MEIGS COUNTY SPORTS PHYSICALS

As a community outreach, the Meigs County Health Department conducted a free sports physical clinic on July 23rd for students of Eastern, Meigs and Southern Local School Districts.  Local Certified Nurse Practitioner Junie Maynard volunteered her time to perform the required examinations for school athletes.  36 students participated in the screenings. The majority of the students took advantage of the opportunity to receive recommended, age-appropriate vaccinations (with parental consent) - Tdap (Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis), Hepatitis A, Menacta (meningitis), Gardisil (HPV) and with a second dose of Varivax (chickenpox) as appropriate.  Donations were appreciated for these convenient services.
